When you’re dealing with nausea and vomiting you may hear about all kinds of remedies and wonder if they work or not. How about a relief band – morning sickness remedy or yet another product to waste your money? Find out what they are and how they are supposed to work and then decide for yourself.
A relief band is a special acupressure device that looks like a bracelet. It has a small protrusion that that is supposed to be applied to a special spot on the wrist. Applying pressure to this spot will help to reduce nausea associated with both motion sickness and morning sickness.
Many women are able to get relief from acupressure and some have to keep their bands on all day long. Other women say that the bands either give them no relief or minimal relief. The problem may be that the bands are not applied correctly so you should take time to make sure you know exactly where the spot is and readjust the bracelets a few times to try to get it right. Or perhaps acupressure just isn’t a good remedy for everyone and some women will not get relief from them even if they are applied correctly.
The nice thing about this remedy is that it is relatively inexpensive to try. You can get a pair of relief bands for about $10 and even if they don’t work for you, they can be saved for another time when motion sickness is an issue.
And a perk to using these is that they are now made in really cute colors and designs so that they are rather fashionable. So even while you’re feeling miserable, you can still look stylish!
If this is an option you’d like to try, I recommend the following bands:
